Iwona Lesniowska-Lubowicz

Iwona was born in Poland. Here, she began with singing and piano lessons in Rzeszów. From 1997 to 2002 she startet her solo singing studies with Prof. Christian Elssner at the Music Academy in Breslau (Poland). In 2002, Iwona Lesniowska-Lubowicz continued her studies at the Colonge Music Concervatoire, by successful completion of both the Konzertexamem under Prof. Barbara Schlick, and the Postgraduate chamber music programme under Prof. Konrad Junghänel.

She has performed with numerous prestigious early music ensembles including: Cantores Minores Wratislaviesnses, Collegio di Musica Sacra, Niederschlesischer Barock Orchestra, Il Tempo, Cantus Cölln and the Niederschlesischer Oper in Breslau. Further development of Iwona's vocal studies include many masterclasses and workshops in Poland (Cracow, Przemysl, Breslau - Wratislavia Cantans) and in Germany (International Haendel Academy in Karlsruhe).

In 2001, Iwona, as soloist with the European Baroque Akademy d'Ambronay in France, performed under the baton of Christophe Rousset (Cadmus et Hermonie by J.B.Lully). In 2004, she performed her debut at the Kölner Philharmonie with the Norwestdeutsche Philharmonie under the conductor H.W. Florin.

In 2004, she produced a CD with the early music ensemble, Floripali. In 2002 and 2005, along with the ensemble Il Tempo, she took part in the European Broadcasting Union concerts in Warschau. In Munich in 2005, Iwona Lesniowska-Lubowicz performed as Clarice in the opera Il mondo della luna, by J. Haydn. Her 2005/7 season began with Iwona becoming a member of the Rheinoper Youth Ensemble in the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. With this group, Iwona has been involved in numerous opera productions including Hänsel und Gretel (E. Humperdinck), Die Trojaner (H. Berlioz) and The beautiful Helena (J. Offenbach). Currently she is a soloist of the Warsaw Chamber Opera.
